Lets face it.... I'm horrible at keeping this blog updated. With the new year here and so many changes over the past 2 years I thought it was high time I dropped a few lines. We are almost empty nesters. It wont be long now. Time has already gone by way to fast. Our girls are both officially adults
18 & 21. In 6 months our son will be a teenager.... ugh... I'm so NOT ready! Our daughter C moved in with friends in 2016. I have only seen her a handful of times since then.. Long story.. another post... Our daughter H is following her dream as an intern and learning about worship leading about an hours drive from home and we miss her so much when she is gone. Neither one of our girls have their drivers license which is completely their choice. H wants to get hers soon. Our son J is currently being homeschooled by me, but that could change at anytime. We had him tested at a learning center and although he is 12 years old, his maturity and learning is that of a 6 to an 8 year old... We haven't told him the results of the testing because we don't want to harm his self esteem, and frankly I don't think he would really even understand it. He already doesn't understand why he can't do things other boys his age can do. He played football for the second time, first was at age 5,but does that really count? He loved it, but didn't get to play to much. I think the coach realized he is not good at following directions...HAHA!
I've been loving my job for the past year and a half working at a wedding venue. Dream job. Right before that job started my daughter H and I started a company dressing up as princesses for birthday an tea parties. It was fun while it lasted. Now I need to decide if I will continue alone or just sell everything. Husband has been killing it in the Texas local country music scene with his band and leading worship at a church on Sunday mornings. My little stinker Scout passed away in May 2016 and shortly after we got a new fur baby Audrey, and she is truly my baby. I take her with me when ever I am able. She has even stolen the husbands heart, all 6lbs of her. We still have the two boxers as of now. A year ago the husband rescued a kitten from a friends yard. We gave her to J. She sleeps in doors at night and in the day runs around our street with two other fat cats who come up and steal her food on our porch. Our house is still a work in progress.... Hoping this is the year it is DONE!
Id love to put it up for sale and move. Well that's the short story.... until next time.

Christmas 2014
The past 6 months have been rough. We have had 4 family members on Clint's side of the family pass away. Last week Bro. Clark a sweet man from church Clint and I both have Ironically known most of our lives passed away, he is also my sister in laws uncle. Tennie, Clint's Aunt who shares a birthday with him 11 years apart (and one of my close friends) went to be with the Lord this Summer. She had Cancer. STUPID CANCER! It happened so fast.... way to fast.... Although we were able to see her through out the time she was in and out of the hospital and say goodbye 2 days before the lord took her.... it just wasn't enough time to really say all the things to her I wanted to. I wanted to beg her not to go. I know she didn't want to. I know she didn't have a choice. None of us do. Aunt Paulette had liver failure. Aunt Barbara died from Cancer too... STUPID CANCER!! Cousin Tonya Daniels sweet 2 year old passed away from a stroke. Its been a really heart breaking year. REALLY SAD! So how do we find JOY in all this Saddness? We have to focus our Gratefulness on the people we do have left. Make the most of the time we have on this earth. Make every day count. Relive the memories we had with loved ones gone. Be thankful for those memories.
Update on my kids. Still Homeschooling all 3 kids. H is learning the Bass. She picked it up in NO TIME.. She is a natural.. I think she will one day be better than her Dad. She is still a Disney Nerd. She Recently has become obsessed with Mermaid Tails. I cant wait to get her one for her 15th Birthday. C is breezing through her SR year and making plans to go to Cosmetology School next Fall. She still is not Driving. Thank God!! We plan on putting her in Drivers Ed in Spring 2015.
Little J didn't go to Karate long but I hope to take him back in the Spring. He loves to play video games. His favorite is boxing. He has improved on his reading, writing and math skills a lot in the past 6 months although he loves to tell people he NEVER does school work...LOL!

Update on Sturgeon Family summer 2014
This past two years have been hard... not going to go into great detail. The jest of it is... Our house is still unfinished . the addition started in 2009. The contractor did half the job and never returned. Recently we have found out that the electrical and the plumbing was not done correctly and we have to get someone to fix it. A friend of mine came and tiled our upstairs shower for free.. Quite the blessing! We have painted some and are still very slowly working on finishing. Restoration church came and put the siding on the back of the house.. another blessing. I am so ready to sell this house and move to the country.
Jo has been quite the challenge to teach to read.. he just turned 8 and is still reading at a kindergarten level. Try as I may... and I do every day he cry's and trys to get out of reading. His hand writing has improved a small amount. Most of the time he likes math, but is still not on level according to his age. He is getting pretty good at basketball by playing at home with the family. I recently signed him up for Karate. He has only been 3 times so far and loves it. Hannah as become a great artist. She loves to draw Disney characters. Her other hobby is baking. She is making cupcakes as I write this. She has learned to love to read, but only if its her choice of book. She back talks me now, but will usually say she is sorry. She is still hating math along with her sister Courtney. Courtney will be 17 soon and that means one more year until her independence. I know she is counting down the days. So far the worse things she has done is wreck the golf chart twice one hitting a tree and once our truck. She is still not driving a car. Sassy mouth at times. Tries to wear clothes I don't approve of. Got a FB account behind our backs and a texting app. Got her phone and Ipod taken away for good two years ago. Typical teenage stuff. I think having her at home and not in public school has kept her out of major trouble. Clint is now the music minister at a new church and I am the leader of Griefshare at our church. Our marriage has had a lot of challenges but we have overcome them through counseling with pastors and prayer! We added another dog to the family. Raliegh. A male boxer. Last summer he and Mia had pups. We sold them all and were sad to do so.

Up date on Family
Spring is finally here.. I love sitting out side and watching the birds and butterflys. We have a nest in a bird house on our front porch. we all got to peek in on them last night.. theres 5 babies. we got to watch the mom and dad built the nest a few weeks ago. It was very educational and fun to watch. My kids are growing like weeds. Hannah is now 12 and shes taller than me and has a foot larger than mine. Courtney age 14 is the same height as me and also has a foot larger than mine. I cant believe how time flys... boy does it fly.. Josiah will be 6 in 5 weeks. He has been talking about his birthday since January. to the point of annoying me..!! He too has gotten so much taller and very skinny.. no more babyfat on him. :( well I say its time to adopt another baby.. LOL! Mia is alot bigger as well .. she is now a year old. Scout and Mia love to play together but they are to wild so we keep them apart most of the time. Mia is a sweet dog...she Loves attention and is very hyper. she also is very protective of her yard and family. Our golf cart is finally fixed after sitting for two years. The girls are tearing up the yard driving that thing around!! The kids have already been in the Lake twice recently and its not even May yet. Im busy with my new business JUJUBELLE and forming a new Ministry called Graysons Gift Ministries which I also write a blog about. Thats a short update on the Sturgeon 7.

Learning all the time
Since I last wrote about us starting "school" again I have learned a few things.
If we dont get to something I had in mind to do it will still be there the next day.
Learning happens ALL the time. You learn something new every day.
All of my kids learn in different ways.
IF somethings NOT working I need to Quit doing it and try something else with them.
My kids are sometimes moody, and they have "bad " days too.. just like I do. I just need to accept it and move on.
Reading to my kids is the best thing I can do for their education and our relationship.
I have to make Bible lessons number ONE over anything else I teach or else Im not doing my job as a mother.
I love being with my kids more than I like working out side the home. (and I love being a Dental Assistant)
My kids are growing up WAY to fast and Im glad I have lots of time to spend with them.
Homeschooling is Gods plan for our family and Im so glad I am blessed to be doing it.
