Update on Sturgeon Family summer 2014

This past two years have been hard... not going to go into great detail. The jest of it is... Our house is still unfinished . the addition started in 2009.  The contractor did half the job and never returned. Recently we have found out that the electrical and the plumbing was not done correctly and we have to get someone to fix it.  A friend of mine came and tiled our upstairs shower for free.. Quite the blessing! We have painted some and are still very slowly working on finishing.  Restoration church came and put the siding on the back of the house.. another blessing.   I am so ready to sell this house and move to the country.
Jo has been quite the challenge to teach to read.. he just turned 8 and is still reading at a kindergarten level. Try as I may... and I do every day he cry's and trys to get out of reading.  His hand writing has improved a small amount.  Most of the time he likes math, but is still not on level according to his age. He is getting pretty good at basketball by playing at home with the family. I recently signed him up for Karate.  He has only been 3 times so far and loves it.  Hannah as become a great artist. She loves to draw Disney characters.  Her other hobby is baking.  She is making cupcakes as I write this.  She has learned to love to read, but only if its her choice of book. She back talks me now, but will usually say she is sorry. She is still hating math along with her sister Courtney.   Courtney will be 17 soon and that means one more year until her independence.  I know she is counting down the days.  So far the worse things she has done is wreck the golf chart twice  one hitting a tree and once our truck. She is still not driving a car. Sassy mouth at times.  Tries to wear clothes I don't approve of.  Got a FB account behind our backs and a texting app. Got her phone and Ipod taken away for good two years ago. Typical teenage stuff.  I think having her at home and not in public school has kept her out of major trouble. Clint is now the music minister at a new church and I am the leader of Griefshare at our church. Our marriage has had a lot of challenges but we have overcome them through counseling with pastors and prayer!  We added another dog to the family. Raliegh.  A male boxer.  Last summer he and Mia had pups.  We sold them all and were sad to do so.
